Does the clock light up?

Hey guys ever since I bought my car I notice that you can't see the clock at night. Does it suppose to light up? If it does then it must be burnt. I wouldn't suppose anyone here has ever taken it apart and fix it? Let me know what you guys think thanks

Yup. It only turns on when you turn on the parking lights

It lights up when the headlights are on, if it doesn't bulb is burnt out. To change the bulb get anything thin and strong without really sharp edges then wrap the end with tape to protect your car. Slip it between the bezel that surrounds the clock & a/c display then gently twist as you work your way along the bottom, the clips pop out very easily.

Once the bottom is out you can grab it and gently pop the top out to access and change the bulb, don't know the bulb size off the top of my head. Once the bulb is replaced line the bezel up and gently tap it into place with the side of your fist, the clips pop in as easy as they came out.

Btw this is on my '04 Coupe, should be the same diy for all years I think. Another diy is a clock swap with one for a Lexus, different coloured face on the clock. Look around, I think it's here somewhere.

A WORD OF WARNING

Be very careful with the AC bezel. The clips and clip support tabs break VERY easy. So use the above said screw driver trick. The bezel is going to pull straight out TOWARDS you. Do not move the bezel upwards at all or you will break a clip support. Also, pull it out slowly and gently (lulz) or else the metal clip will unseat itself from the support. I broke 2 of the 4 clips when changing my clock for a I30 white faced clock and i was very gentle with it. I had to use epoxy to mend everything back together, it was a PITA. Good luck!
