Exhaust gargle

Hey guys

I asked in the exhaust thread but I'l make a new thread for it here

I am looking at getting an exhaust system for my G35, ideally I would like it to make that 'gargle' noise once you let off the accelerator

So my question is what part of the exhaust system causes that sound?

(sorry if this has been asked before, if so please link me to the thread)

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods
Do you mean something like this? I think most exhausts do this to some degree, even the stock set up.

You'll get that sound with any straight-through exhaust design for our cars.

My exotic speed does it. I love the way it sounds. I'm pretty sure most exhausts will give off the burble your looking for. Check out the exhaust compilation thread

Yeah just like that blue dream

I have watched a few from the exhaust thread but some seem a lot more louder than others

Can you still get that noise with high flow cats instead of test pipes?

'B FIFE22' are you running any test pipes?

I'm still running the stock cats. I plan on getting HFC's soon.

I'm thinking of getting the Fujitsubo, it sounds fairly quite (no much drone) but sounds nice once the revs are up

You'll get the most gargling and popping by removing your catalytic converters.

My Maxima used to pop and rumble like crazy on deceleration once I installed headers.

My G does it some, but the OEM exhaust tends to drown a lot of it out.

Ok but I don't want it to be illegal so would high flow cats help make the noise as well?
