Compression rods (2006 g35) ....

I had to have 'em replaced a few months ago (May) and since then, my car sounds different, sounds RAGGEDY/rattley when I drive over a bump in the road. Also, as of late, I am hearing a THUMP when I turn the wheel while in reverse to back out of my parking space at my bldg. I have also heard the same thump a few times when I'm just driving. I am takin' the car in on Thurs. and am hoping these issues are related to the compression rod work that was performed in May. Does anyone have any idea/s what my car is experiencing? All these issues are makin' me not love me car anymore.....

You had the whole rod assembly replaced? or just the bushings? If just the bushings is it oem bushings or aftermarket.

Wow, I am so clueless....I believe the whole rod assembly was replaced. I know I asked for the old parts and they're 2 silver thingys that fit inside a med. sized box... As far as bushings, I am going to have to locate my invoice...will get back.

My invoice indicates:
replace compression rod bushings and the cost was 303.11/ea (@ an Infiniti dealer, btw)

I have no idea if oem or after market bushings were used? What does that mean? Thanks.

Oem is you got factory part from infiniti. Since you had it serviced at the dealer, take it back and let them worry about it.
But thats expensive @ $303 each

This is the price you pay....^....for having work done at the stealership! Any time you need anything fixed or repaired find a independent shop with qualified mechanics, the cost will be far less. Even a Nissan dealership will do the same job for less using the exact parts! When will you learn?

Thanks for that tip and scolding....I am seeking an alternative to the "stealership".

Just to f/u.....my car's sickness was cured last Friday. According to the repairman, he tightened the suspension and.......thank goodness, CURED.
The next day after I picked my car up, I took it for a spin and drove it like I had never drove it before .....and, I'm satisfied

Thanks to all who responded to my original post.
