So I was backing out of my driveway and I had stopped to talk to my wife who had just pulled in. I continue to reverse and check both ways down the street and I start my turn so I can head up the street but apparently while I had been talking to my wife my neighbor pulled up and parked right behind my driveway in the blindspot of my mirrors. I ended up backing into him with the clutch in. Damage on his car was nothing, I was able to buff it all out. I managed to catch my bumper right at the corner so it crumpled in on the right rear corner. There is a tiny crack. I know it was my fault and it was idiotic not to check over my shoulder again after I had talked to my wife. Here are some photos of it. I am really low on cash at the moment so I am desperate on what to do. The photos taken from further out make it look as if the whole panel is dented but that is just the shadow, if you zoom it in you will see that it just the lower corner with a small crack going up the edge. I have already taken the bumper off to check for any other damage and there isnt any since I barely hit him, just at the weakest part of my bumper. Im looking for advice on what to do as well as how much you think it will cost/if the bumper is repairable.

 

It's not cracked all the way through. Just barely along the edge. Any idea how much it is to have a bumper repainted?

 

Should probably just buy a new bumper, the distortion will always be there.

Anyone recommend a place to get one cheap? Trying to fid used ones. I hate having the car look like this

 

It's the wifes fault!!! lol just kidding, i dont know a whole lot about body parts/body work but i would try to beat out the dent depending on how bad it is maybe you could just sand it down put a little bondo sand some more and get some paint and paint it. im probably going to get flamed for this but like i said "i dont know a lot about body parts or body work".

EDIT: just until you can afford a new bumper.

 

$300 or so for a good repaint. Less if they're able to just blend it in. Where do you live?

So I am having the bumper cover replaced. The previous owner apparently took it to some shitty paint place when he had an accident and payed for it out of pocket (nothing on carfax) so the paint on it is chipping. Infiniti dealership actually price matched a refurbished bumper so I get brand new. It gets prepainted on Friday and install on Monday, will put up pics mainly just to make myself feel better that my G looks great again. Thanks for all the advice. Factory bumper with paint and high labor cost in missouri plus discount because I know owners of paint place plus a little extra kind of detail work on the front bumper comes out to $800

 

Glad that all worked out for you! $800 seems somewhat reasonable for a new bumper with quality paint.

Hopefully they're able to paint match it.
