HAHA. Really paint from 1966? No crap genius. Todays paints are water/solvent based due to EPA standards. I have a new paint job on my front bumper and I still get chips but not as bad as OEM paint. Fact of modern day paints!

Couldn't care if it was made out of vegetable oil. Shouldn't flake. Simple concept. Particularly when paint on other comparable brands hold up much better.

Cause it's single stage. Keep in mind clear coat is thin as a post it note. For ALL manufactures.

Thank you for the suggestion. I polled the exterior of my car and the results came back conclusive... sh*t paint.

Appreciate your insight, and that is probably true... but my eye ***** don't lie. And I wasn't born yesterday. I will re-iterate: ALL THINGS BEING EQUAL (hope I don't need to explain this meaning), it is poor quality.

Peeling, Bubbling, Factory Paint Defect?

I have a 2005 G35 Sedan. Of course I have small dings and chips but in the last 90 days my hood started doing this! This does not seem like normal wear and tear. Yes, the car is 9 years old, yes I know the warranty ran out but damn....this is pretty bad.

Same spot as mine. It flaked off when as I washed my hood with a garden hose. Joke.

I spoke to a reputable body shop a couple weeks ago and he simply said Japanese paint, particularly Nissan, was thinner and poorer than the German brands. This is simply what he said, I have no evidence to support.

Well, guess I'll call Infiniti customer care and see what they say. Other than that, guess it is $500 bucks for a hood paint job. Or just some white spray paint to at least keep it from flaking anymore. Looks so ghetto.....
