30mm vs 38mm spacers

Hey all,

I'm currently looking at selling my 25mm spacers (I have 25mm all around) and getting either 30mm, 38mm spacers, or a combination of the two (30 front/38 rear) OR I might keep 25 on the front and get 30 or 38 on the back.

I've heard of people having issues with 38's, not necessarily with rubbing since my car is not lowered so the clearance should be fine (right?) from everything I can see. But I've heard of other issues. I'd also like to get bolt on so that when I need to bring my car in for warranty work I can remove them pretty easily.

Does anybody have experience with either and/or have any pics for comparison?? Thanks much!

I would NOT trust 38mm spacers. That's friggin' huge.

I wouldn't go above 25mm spacers. Especially on our cars. If you're in the market for a more stanced look, I'd definitely say stick with saving up and buying new rims...

I run 30mms on rays im lowered and it looka perfect

OP - If the spacers are good quality, I don't see why there would be a huge difference in terms of strength between a 30mm and 38mm spacer, albeit it's a bit more uncommon than a 25mm would be.

If they were considered dangerous I don't think many people would be making them. As far as whether they'd rub or not, you'll have to measure your clearance to see how much room you have to play with.

I wouldn't say dangerous, but that's a lot of extra strain on the bearings. So if you have money to blow, why not. But then again you could just buy wider rims.

Definitely. Those size spacers are quite large, and that might be a sign for new wheels.

ran 25mm spacers entire life of the car
had both bearings replaces (front and rear) @ roughly 100k
now running 38mm spacers. No issues what so ever.

Ha I'm about to replace one of my rear bearings on warranty. It must have been on it's way out when I got the car 3,000 miles ago because I've only had the spacers on for like 1 1/2 month. Anyway, I'm definitely leaning toward 30mm.

Question: When you says Rays, are those the stock 19" 10 spoke rims? I'm trying to find a set that's hyper black. If I can sell my stock 19"'s and get the same hyper black I'd be so happy

They're stock 19" Rays. I believe their +30 front and +33 rear... Porque?

I have 30mm on the rear and 20 mm on the front. Works well.

I'm running 30/38 with -2 degrees of camber.. No rubbing cause my front fenders are pulled and my rears are grinded smooth from my old wheels, now I'm on oem 19s.. They definitely would rub with oem camber specs because I'm almost tuckin tire.. My plan is to put the 30s in the back and get 20 or 25 in the front because I'm putting unmolested oem fenders in the front and running oem camber..

Well that just solidifies my choice to NOT do 38's. I'll be happy with 30's. Plus from what it sounds like, 38's come with issues other than rubbing. They sure would look sweet though...

Does anybody know anything about this company B2autodesigns. Quality stuff? The price is right.
