07 G35 Hood question. Wind blew my hood back further then it should

so today was a very windy day, my car died, didn't realize it till getting back today from a short vacation. Anyhow, I needed to be somewhere and buddy of mine helped me charge the car up and it started, in the process...my hood flew back going way to far back and my hood seems bent or something? it closes but rubs up on the higer part of my side panels on the edges..do you guys think my hood is a goner or is this the brackets that got bent? it deff rubs the side panels and causes chipping of the paint from lifting the hood up and down. Someone please tell me i don't need a new hood.:cryi ngcrying:

Yep its the hinges. My hood does the same thing since I bought it actually. Haven't got around to replacing them as its only a minor annoyance.

You can adjust it to a degree not sure if you could adjust it enough or not just depends on how bad it is. I had a similar problem when I bought my car and I just elongated the holes in the hinges with a dremel so I could position the hood further forward and bolted it on tight. Worked for me

since i need to replace the hinges......What is it that i'm looking for here? I had it on my 08 maxima hood. It didnt require a pole to keep the hood to stay up? Can i replace these oem hinges with the kind that dosent require a pole to hold it up? what is that called?

u need hinges. hood shock and hinge is two different thing.
shocks are not required.
again, its called "(insert your manufacture yr. here) g35 hood hinges"

there is this thing called google. its similar to a handbook "internet for dummies"

or to simply put, just replace whatever is broken, bent, etc. kinda common sense.

SOOOOO your saying the hinges are needed no matter what and If i want i can buy the shock hinges in addition? Also I took my car to the local Nissan stealership and they recommended i take my car to a body shop to have the hinges assembled. I found the hinges for 30 bucks a piece. I want to know if It's necessary to paint these hinges? Are the hinges primed or treated metal? I really don't want to pay the extra cost to paint them if I don't have too ya know. I got a estimate from someone 4-$500.00 to fix it? umm can you say shoot me?! lol
