Hmm. It's very possible that you can have the oc issue. Best thing to do is from now on check your oil levels more often. My friend has an 04 5at and his car has the oc issue bad.

Sorry I'm not 100% sure but if you can see smoke and smell burning oil then that's not good lol.

Could be a head gasket failure that's resulting in coolant leaking into your oil. Go for a drive, shut the car off, and then pull the oil dipstick out and see if you have a nasty milkshake looking substance on your dipstick instead of just normal-looking oil.

Also look in your coolant reservoir for oil floating in the coolant. Never open the actual radiator when the car is hot though, you can scald the $hit out of yourself.

if the oil is above the full line, i would change your oil asap. Putting in too much oil can damage your engine as much as putting in too little.

If you used synthetic oil, it burns a little lighter then convential oil which would burn more of a blue smoke. Could just be oil burning from too much oil.

I would change it and just watch the oil levels and see if you experience the same problem.

Are you sure the smoke you see is white and not blue? White smoke is usually coolant, blue/oil. I too would suggest changing the oil and watching the oil level as well as the coolant very carefully. The coolant should be totally clean and the dipstick should not have any milky residue in it. I have not heard of any head gasket issues with our cars and the 03 and 04 automatics were not revup engines with the oil issues. If your dipstick is overfilled it should be replaced asap and go from there. Good luck.

Rev up were prone to oil consumption issues 05-07 with 6speed. 03-04 weren't. I can go 6,000 miles on my 04/automatic between oil changes with the oil level still full.
