Hi Guys,

I was seeing if someone could help me with this noise I hear from my G

I've noticed it only happens on a cold start. Ill back out of my driveway and shift to drive. Ill accelerate for about 50-100 feet and all of a sudden ill hear this "spring release" noise coming from the engine and im not sure what it is. After this, i wont hear it again until another cold start is done. Just very strange and want to make sure its nothing major. If any more info is needed, ill be glad to supply it. Thanks again.

 

I was worried about this when I first got my car too. It's only after you turn it on. Mine does it when it shifts to 2nd gear. (Automatic). But yeah don't worry about it. Took it to the dealer and they said all G's do it. It has something to do with the brakes I believe.

Nope not at all. It's a good thing actually. So panic when you don't hear it lol

HA. I been noticing this since I got my car but only recently really started to think about it and was worried as well. Glad you made this thread and got it answered.

I have this sound as well on mine as well since forever.
I believe this is normal.

 

Definitely the ABS. Look back at some of the older threads on Driver from the 04 time frame and you will see alot of people asking about this noise. I think it disappeared after a few model years, but the 03-04s are notorious for this sound.

 

My 06 has the same thing and I can feel my brake pedal pressure.
After that, it goes away completely. It's been like this for many years.

 

When i got the car i got worried about that sound too but its the ABS...
