Hi,

Recently I have notice a weird clunking noise whenever I try to move the car from a dig, either forward or reverse at slow speeds.

As I was in reverse going into the parking space, I felt that the brakes was still engaged because it sounded like something was grinding. Also, it made this clunking noise when I reverse and it goes away as my car starts to move. And then when I move forward it screeches like I have bad brakes or something. I am not even pressing on the brakes because I am on the throttle trying to reverse the car.

The clunking sound comes from the rear.
My buddy said it might be the rotors or even wheel bearing.

The same thing happens to me. It is the clutch. the oem clutches in the g35 are beefier then other manual cars so when the clutch and pressure plate are cold they make that sound... its not doing damage, its actually causing less wear because the plates are denser because of the cold.

 

I have the exedy oem clutch with act lite flywheel. But the sound sounds like its something with the brakes. Also, when u first drive the car u dont feel anything. After maybe 10-15mins of driving u can feel it.

Any ideas?

 

I heard the clunking noise again when i was driving to work. When i was trying to accelerate from the light, felt like it was harder to move the car and then the "clunk clunk" noise.

When i finally got to work, as i was exiting the car, i could smell a burnt smell coming from the rear driver wheel. The other sides were fine, no smell.
