anyone know what this sound is?

Hey guys, I've been hearing this sound lately coming from the rear somewhere. Sounds like something spraying or like a air leak of some sort. Anyone have any idea what it could be?

Could be a pulley Or make sure radiator fans could be going bad check them . Most of the time if its that loudly visible it will be external so all moving parts just check them and narrow it down . There's tools mechanics have to hear where exactly the sound is the loudest wich will basically give you your answer . Hope this helps

You are probably not hearing the sound I'm referring to. It's kinda quiet in the video, the louder sound is normal. The sound I'm talking about is kinda quiet in the background coming from the rear of the car. It sounds like air coming out of an air hose when you are pumping air in your tires.

I have heard that on my car as well at one point or another no idea what it was and I havent had any issues that would lead me to believe it is something bad, although I do have an extended warranty so I really havent bothered looking into anyway. Sorry that I couldn't be more help let me know if you do find anything out.

Could be the gas tank pressure relief thingy, but it should be intermittent hissing unlike yours which seems more continuous.

Yeah its the sound like the spray paint can. It used to be more intermittent but the other day it kept making that sound with a 2 second pause in between.

Don't worry about it man... it's completely normal and all of our cars do it. You should hear it more predominantly from the passengers side rear wheel-well. It's just the excess pressure being purged from the fuel tank as a result of the fuel return system causing a constant pressure buildup in there.

There are quite a few threads about this on the boards, but rest assured that you have nothing at all to worry about with regard to this sound. Enjoy your car!

it just made me worry because i started my car in the garage and I could hear the sound from about 5-7 feet away from the car. Never noticed it before.
