new member & new to the g35 family. HELP!!

I just recently bought a 2004 G35. I have a few questions which concerns me with the car. first concern is the back of the car. Is it suppose to be this low? or is it dropped? The used car dealers told me he changed the rear shocks to oem stock and the car was previously much lower. I know he might be just telling me anything. I guess i am looking for your feedback. I am new to how the g35 should look like. 2) second concern are the wheels. Are these the original wheels? i know their 17 inch wheels. And also i am missing one of the center caps for one of the wheels. But i want to know the model of the wheel or the model # of the center cap before i order it. can someone help. Please don't kill me. I know these are simple questions. But i don't know much about cars. All i know is that the G35 is a sexy car and i like the way it drives. BTW the car drives great. Just those minor issues.

1. Car looks lowered or just abnormally lower in the rear. Dealer might of changed the shocks but still used the lowered springs.

2. Those should be OEM 17" rims.

Can't tell you the cost to change them but if you can't do they yourself then just call around. My guess would maybe be $2-300, don't quote me on that though. I would suggest you jack up the car, remove wheels & check what springs & shocks are installed.

if you aren't familiar with auto mechanics don't be messing around with springs by yourself...take it to a reliable shop.
I was a machanic for 21 years before I changed careers...still can do all my own work but there is a few things I wont tackle due to safety or possible injury...
How far in NY are you located? If you are near Massena I know a good shop/ low prices.

They are OEM wheels. They're just from the sport packaged sedans from 03-04.

Hmm well I have never seen those before.

Why in the hell would you put sedan wheels on a coupe, it always happens the other way around.

The turbo retard strikes again. Those are oem 17's.

Looks like your only lowered in the rear but not upfront. I have a pair of stock springs if you want to go back to stock, PM me if interested i can ship.

Never seen oem SEDAN 17s. I have absolutely never seen them on a coupe either. I know what the 17s 18s and 19s look like on the coupe. I don't keep up with the sedan much. I know more about the damn 350z then I do about the g35 sedan.

Thanks for the name calling though I appreciate it.

Congrats on your purchase! Just take it to a good shop and find out what is going on back there. You can try and take a bunch of good pics and post them here. There are some pretty knowledgeable members on here that might be able to help. If you like the wheels, just keep them. Good luck and keep us posted.

"Turbo retard"...... that was pretty funny.

Welcome to DRIVER! Hope you can get the answers you're looking for. Buying a used car anything is possible! There's a possibility the rear spring mounts have been cut to lower the rear end. Then OE springs reinstalled cause the front looks much higher than the backside due to the altered spring mounts. Or you might have lowering spring out back and OE springs on the front or both? Only way to tell in getting her on a rack and have a knowledgeable Nissan mechanic check er out....Gary
