Problem starting 04 G' with it starting...and then idle dropping and turning off

Hi everyone,

So I've had some problems the last few days with my G. It's had trouble starting with this cold weather. I didn't think nothing of it the first time.. just thought it was a little weird.

It's been 20 something degrees all week and just thought that was the reason.

Well it happened again today, and when the idle started to drop to conk out I revved it up like the last time to get the idle up and get the car to keep running.

I put it in reverse, and went home from work.

Once I did this last time and this time, the car continued to run right and have no other issues.

Well this second time caused the CEL. Any idea what it could be?

Thanks in advance!

You need to get the code read that popped the CEL. That'll tell you what went wrong.

What's the best way to get the CEL code?

Will get a pic of my snowy/dirty baby soon. Just want to make sure she's ok.

take to an auto-zone, or some, they should be able to get you the code{s}

since it isn't technically drivable, maybe just go buy one, they-re handy to have and pretty cheap, 30-40$?

I actually will be using my buddy at honda to scan it. The code actually went away... and when th ecode was up still drove and started fine... wondering if it's a fluke...

Either way will check it out tomorrow. Stay tuned everyone!

Apparently the code was a P2135, aka TPS error. Is this common?

It's gone away, but this has happened in the past during really cold days. It makes sense with the it having trouble starting up....

Yea. This was the first time the code has ever been thrown. I've had the weird issues with idle dropping after trying to start it in the cold over the past couple of years, maybe once a year... but this is the first time it's thrown a code.

Hasn't happened again, probably won't til' next year lol.

Good to know it wasn't something more serious!
