this morning I woke up to massive amounts of snow, ok not that much around 5-6 inches. After digging my way out and trying to get my G out of my spot, when giving it quite a bit of gas and my slip coming on, I would get what sounds like some sort of electrical pinging noise from either the cluster or the engine, I could really put my finger on it but, on the highway when the slip light would come on it didnt do it, only seems to when the car is under heavy acceleration. Should I have anything to worry about?

 

Sounds like detonation, are you running premium fuel?

 

yes always premium, im not sure if pinging was the right word to describe it, it didnt really have a mechanical tone to it

 

May be coming from the ABS, those solenoids make a clicking sound

 

i think it's your traction control system engaging the ABS and retardng the throttle so you don't die.. haha.

 

It happened to me a few weeks ago. I was backing into my garage and their was still ice on the driveway. My tires started spinning and I had that clicking type, sound too.

 

its traction, happens to me all the time.

 

Yea I figured it was normal. I thought it was from my axle cause I have the annoying axle clicking

 

def abs and traction kicking on... leave vdc on and try to spin the tires... you will hear it.
