rotten egg smell

Not sure if this has happened anyone else but for some reason when I drive the car hard there is this foul odor that comes out from outside the car. I'm not sure if it's the gas I'm using which is Gulf in NY. I've also heard it could be a problem with the CATALYTIC CONVERTER not sure. I'm gonna try getting gas from a different place and see if the smell is still there. So has this happened to anyone else?

In general when you have the "Rotten Egg Smell" your cats are done. Take your G to a mechanic you know and have him check em out. You can buy HFCs much cheaper than OE cats if they're legal in your state....Fast Intentions were my choice! We sell them here on our MARKETPLACE under vendor exhaust....Gary

Rotten Egg smell is an indication of catalytic converters overworking and burning sulfur.

Replacing your cats maybe a temporary fix. A big misnomer is to blame cat converters when problem usually is excessive fuel or insufficient air flow.

Techincally converters should last life of car if engine maintained properly.

I'm thinking its the converter if not than the cats. I'm gonna take it to the shop to see what the exact problem is. I'm the second owner and I know for a fact the last owner did not maintain the car properly as I've already had a number of problems that needed fixing.
