Just installed my JDM tails on my 06 and love it. I figured since I had an 06 that the trunk button on the left tail would work. But it appears there is an additional connector that has no where to go.

Am I missing something, or does the trunk button not work with any year?

Some websites are misleading and say the trunk release will only work with 06-07. But one thing they forgot. "With some modification".

 

This is what most sellers say (Infiniti Dealers): NOTE: These Lights Will Fit All G35 Coupes From 2003-2007. They Do Come With The Trunk Release Button Built In So Everything Will Work 100% on the 06-07 Models. 03-05 You Will Need To Do Some Custom Wire Work In Order To Get The Trunk Release To Work Or You Can Just Leave It In Place.

I think I am going to try to swap the wire harness from my US tails.

 

I have the 06-07 JDM tails as well on my 06 coupe like I mentioned in the Mods thread. And yeah, the trunk button doesn't work. I imagine that our car in Japan and elsewhere have a different wiring harnesses for the left tail light. I didn't do anything to try and make it work.

 

Yeah I am going to see if wiring harnesses can be swapped for US 06 tails.

 

Im interested in this as well. I have an 03 G and will need to do the extra wiring as needed to make the button work which is fine by me.

lol. I knew it was a matter of time until someone asked. Probably at a later time. I still haven't had time to swap wiring harnesses with JDM tails.

 

Alright well I swapped the wiring harness with my old US tails and the trunk button works again.
