Coupe Random Little Question Thread
Has anyone ever had a Check Engine Light just turn off on its own??? I bought my 2004 Coupe 3 months ago and had a O2 Sensor Code P1283 the whole time. Ive cleared the code a few times and it always comes back. Then all of the sudden I started my car a few days a go and the CES light is gone. I havent replaced any o2 sensors , I havent reset self learning or done anything except drive my car. Does this mean Im good to go now ???

Well my car runs fine, and Im getting 18 miles per gallon . I read on here that a guy with the same O2 sensor code simply reset "self learning" and cleared the code and it hasn't came back on again for over 3 years now. What does it mean if a Check Engine light goes off on its own? In the Manuel it says that screwing on a gas cap more tightly or just driving the car for awhile will sometimes remedy a CES. I just wonder why my light finally went off on its own.
quick question. I'm looking at buying an '07 G35. The car has stock Brembo brakes and I'm wondering, when the brakes need to be replaced, do they need to be replaced with brembo pads, rotors, calipers, ect.? Thanks
The Brembo Brakes only came stock with the '03 and '04 G35. I would look into it more if it does have them, because the year could be wrong, or you could have been lied to. Is it a 6MT coupe? If not, then they must also be aftermarket, which isn't a bad thing.
I've had aftermarket rotors and pads on my brembos for over 2 years premium not the cheep cera-metallic crap though and my brakes have been great still have about 80% left even though I do a bit of "spirited" driving lol
I just bought some BC BR type coilovers for an 05 coupe and I noticed it didn't come with camber adjustments for the front, I looked at the box and it says they are for 03-05 350z (i know the suspensions are like basically the same) so I'm just wondering if any of you guys who have BCs have camber adjustments or if that's normal not to. Also if I'm lowering just 1 inch am i really going to need front camber arms or just the rears? Last question: is factory preload of 5mm the right setting for my coupe? Thanks guys

Yes you need front and rear camber arms. Those who don't are people who a) don't drive the car that much anyway, or b) replace tires every year because baller status.
These aren't McPherson strut cars where the camber adjustment can be made in the coilover, like a 240SX for example.

Thanks for the replys guys, I think I'm going to just install them, wait a week for them to settle (I really don't drive that much) and then get an alignment and see how far I'm off. I'll probably end up getting the camber kit for sure
