I have about the same play (maybe 1-2inches) before it starts to engage. As long as the pedal comes back up fully you should be fine.
The clutch does stick halfway down sometimes, which is another issue. There are some threads here about it, just look them up.

Yup, that is normal in most G's.

I plan on replacing the master and slave cylinders whenever I replace my clutch.

So from looking around I understand the G35 exhaust is a few (6?) inches longer than the 350z one.
I've read that the STOCK Z exhaust ends up tucked further behind the bumper on the G.
I'm looking at buying a Skunk2 exhaust from a Z owner and was wondering if the extensions will enough to fit on my G or will the tips be sunken. The thing that is confusing me is all those cheap ebay exhausts list for both G and Z and simply sell the extension pipes with the exhaust. This makes is appear as though there is no problem with the positioning of the tail pipes with the bumper. Even when we know the stock Z tail pipes end up sunken on a G bumper..... So what's what?

But if the stock Z tails come up short on a G bumper, what do they do with the aftermarket ones? They'll either have made the exhaust for a Z and the tails are short for the G or made it for a G and have extra long tail pipes when fitted to a Z?

If it doesn't look right, you can always have a muffler shop extend the tips and inch or two to make them flush with the bumper.

Most of those cheap ebay exhausts have adjustable tips. Meaning they can be slid out a little bit to match the G bumper. That or they split the difference between the Z/G and they look "okay".

Tail light
I have an 04 g35 coupe with 07 led tailightson it courtesy of the last owner, after an accident I need a new passenger side tailight to match the drivers side one (obviously) but I can only find drivers side online. Can someone point me to one and any idea why so many left side but no right side?

I got a 04 6MT. When driving the car cold the transmission feels super smooth in all gears. Once the car is warmed and and been driven a bit my 4th and 5th feel like they're dragging or bumpy going into gear. I don't know if this is a problem possibly? It feels like it grinding but there's no audible noise of it actually doing so. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
