Gaps look fine to me. They're even on both sides and consistent along the tails. If it was close at one end and wide at the other, then I'd worry.

I suppose this question goes for all G35's as well as 350z but I didn't think it needed a new thread...
When accelerating hard up to ~4/5000 rpms, if I let off the throttle instantly I can hear a noise from the engine bay which sort of sounds like the noise you get when you are drinking from a straw and reach the bottom of the drink where there's hardly anything left.

The noise/sound is short although sometimes if the auto box holds the gear a little longer with part throttle before shifting up, the noise will continue until the upshift or if you let off completely from the throttle. I am thinking this is just air being 'slurped' past the throttle body whilst at high revs with the suddenly closed throttle. Anyone else get this? Is it just normal? What else could it be?

I gotta say I doubt this is true. You won't feel a HUGE improvement, but the front end will flex less on turn in and on sweeping higher g turns.

think of it this way. take a tupperware/rubbermaid round bowl. squeeze it.. flexes right? now put the lid on. squeeze it. ah hahh..

Okay then...it's the fourth side on a box. Either way it prevents the strut towers from flexing inward on hard cornering.

yea, that does suck. seems no matter how I put it on it tightens up. i stick a pair of pliers in the top holes and it has good leverage.

No, strut bars don't do crap. It is proven. You must tie the strut bar to the firewall in a triangle for it to make any difference. That's why any time you see a car with a brace from the factory, its always tied to the firewall.

You have to keep the chassis from twisting not necessarily flexing.

I picked up a Nismo ratchet style oil cap, never over torqued. Since it's taller, it's also easier to grab. Comes in handy since I have to top off my oil so often lately.
