Passenger Window issue. Please help!

I know G's are known for their window issues and I've done a bit of searching, but can't seem to find my exact issue. My passenger side window will go down with the switch with no issues at all. Sometimes when i put it all the way down and it gets stuck. I've learned that if give the door panel a nice pound it will start to come up again. I've been doing that for awhile now but not the window only seems to want to come up about half way and then it gets stuck. I then have to hold up the switch while grabbing the window to force it the rest of the way up. Is this just simply the motor going out or could it be something else. The window still goes down with no issues at all, but putting it back into the closed position is a stuggle. My guess is that it will go down without issue because it doesn't take the motor as much power to put it down than it does to put it back up. Any input would be much appreciated. Just want to know what needs to be done or replaced. Really don't feel like dropping a lot of money by taking to the dealership. Thanks in advance.

Its the window motor, or more specifically the brushes in the motor. I had a similar issue with my passenger window and ended up replacing them.
Most people replace the whole motor but if you are good at fixing things you can go to the hobby store, get some electric motor brushes, and replace the worn out ones. It will cost only a few dollars and some time.

Here is a guide:

Awesome man. I think I'll try the cheap fix first and if that fails, just replace the whole motor. Thank you!

I have a similar problem with my passenger side window. If I roll it half way down or so, it usually won't be an issue. But if I roll it all the way down, from time to time I will not be able to roll it up with the driver's side switch. It might start to go up but then just give out and roll back down.

So far the problem is easily solved by leaning over to the passenger side and using that button...

The problem is in neither the driver or passenger window switch modules. Thanks for the input though.

UPDATE: So I ended up having time to take out my window motor and put in new window brushings. I put everything back together and the window was working flawlessly. Motor seemed strong as ever. Now a few days later the window will work fine and then get stuck at certain locations when putting it up/down. I do the door pound/slam trick and the window will start working again. Motor is strong as ever but not it is getting stuck more than it ever has. Any ideas why it is doing this?

New guy here.

This almost sounds like a window regulator problem. Like the motor is getting too much resistance from the window regulator...cable binding?? anyone?

This was a common problem with the wife's BMW...which is now replaced by her 2003 G35 coup..

if the regulator mount nuts are loose, it can cause problems..

to test regulator mechanism:

there seems to be some motor reset procedure, but if your motor was working and isn't now..

I have a problem with my new window motor and I didnt want to create a new thread for it. The problem: the reset motor procedure wont work! IDK how the motor works but i took off the window motor reset button and I couldn't determine what the button was supposed to hold in place as I move the window up and down. Does anyone know how this works? Or does anyone know if I can use something instead of the window motor button to press down and hold what ever it is that needs to be held down to reset the motor??
I feel that the button isnt doing anything.

I already got a new motor b/c the old one stopped working even after I cleaned it. I didnt feel like rebuilding. The only problem with this NEW window motor is that the reset procedure wont work on it. I think its the reset button. I need to know what the button holds down so that I can make sure it is being held down.

I'd pick up or order online a Haynes/Chilton repair manual. It should have this info in it. Best 16-20 bucks you'll spend. Most car parts places will have them...or just order from amazon.
