? about starting in the cold

does anyone else have trouble starting their G coupe in the cold? I just picked mine up on sunday. Monday morning it took 3 tries to start. Today (tuesday) it did the same thing. it is a 2003 w/ 25k on it. Might it be the battery? I dont know what to think, it only has the problem on the very first start up. every other time during the say it starts perfectly. Anyone experiencing anything similar?? or know what i should check out?

the original battery is suspect. have it checked at the dealer, he'll be able to test its cold crank amps.

yeah, mine sat for three weeks in north jersey when it wasn't above freezing the whole time, and it still started up first shot just fine. So something's up, get it checked

How long are you going between starting up the car? Days? Weeks? It is possible the battery is losing its charge in the cold weather between running it. Make sure that your alternator is properly working as well.

i've had that same problem. there's a tsb out for that problem. go to www.infinitihelp.com for the latest tsb. That particular one is called a 'throttle' tsb. i got it replace, but it still happens.

it sometimes takes me like 2-3 tries to get it started.

it only happens once in the morning...so far every morning that i have had the car.....which is 2 now. So it is only a period of about 12 hours where the car sits. every other start during the day, it cranks and starts perfectly. I dunno what is up, but im making an appt to bring it back in....which sucks, because i just got it on sunday.

To me it sounds like a bad or poor connection. I encountered symptoms like that on another vehicle where it acted up on the 1st cold start every morning and I cleaned up and redid the connections on the starter and battery and never had a problem after that.
You should take it back to the dealer if you have only had it 2 days.

What viscosity oil is in the car? Anything heavier than 5W30 could cause cold starting problems.
