It's normal, the shaft doesn't have a bearing on the end so when you shut it down your hearing it rattle while it winds down. Mine does the same, so do my buddies

Yes. It's normal. I just hold down my clutch pedal while I shut down the engine. No big deal.

after thinking about it i dont ever still have the clutch pressed while turning off the car. so i guess its never happened to me. when i turn off my car the clutch pedal has been release way in advance when the engine is still running. seems strange to release clutch after turning engine off

I think my '05 6MT has this same problem and I've always wondered what exactly it was. I just assumed it was clutch related since it wouldn't make the noise if I was holding in the clutch when I was turning off the ignition. Good to know it seems like a common "issue".

dual fly wheel chatter...hold the clutch in when you turn off the car to eliminate the noise, or if you don't it doesn't matter, it will not hurt anything.
