G35 Coupe
it has a decent amount of HP, has the body lines that are sleak and sporty, exhaust note is on the different end of the spectrum to a corolla. ya i would say its a sports car

Sooo, just to recap. People are basing their decisions off of:

1) How the car looks
2) The exhaust note
3) How many doors it has
4) How many seats it has
5) Curb weight
6) Whether or not the engine is shared in a non-sporty vehicle

Did I miss anything?

It needs to remind its owner every single yard of every single journey that he or she bought the car to be exciting.

It needs, therefore, to transmit its interaction with the road with a series of semaphore signals in the driver's pants. It needs to telegraph every burp of its engine, every squeak of its tyres. A sports car is a state of mind.

This is it for me. If I see tricked out econoboxes although, then raise my eyebrow and roll my eyes.

Think we all missed one important word in the ops question. Is "YOUR" G35 a sports car. If you think it it-it's is. If you think your G35 is a souped up maxima-then it is. If you think it's a F1 car and you're Senna, then yes, again it is, but no.... You're not.

My G35 is a sports car only because the 350Z is a sports car.

Muscle cars are a class of sports car!

I believe you are entertaining the stereotype that corvettes can't go around corners.

A: the new c7 is actually on par with the Porche
B: the c6 takes corners so hard i can feel the blood shift in my face when jamming down an onramp. It can take corners so hard they put a G meter in there for crying out loud.
C: My c4 (with a few suspension mods) hangs right along with my friends miata in the corners, and blasts past in the straights. The race is literally over after I hit one straight because he can't catch up in the bends... In a miata...

The stero type was created and pushed by eurojunkies because they have a roaring V8 stuck up their bums.

Yes the wold sees the vetta as a muscle car, but it is powerful in a straight line, fast in the bends. its a small coup with a massive engine built for racing and speed. it is the definition of a sports car.

The zr1 was actually slower in the straights then the equal year 911 but faster in the corners but I don't believe the corvette is a muscle car it's a sports car the pony cars are muscle cars in my opinion and many other peoples

Ok so now that you all have informed me as to what a sports car really is I can now accurately classify the cars. so clearly because the Accord I drove before I got my G handled well it was definitely a sports car. the exhaust not on my friends mom's pathfinder is quite good so that is clearly a sports car. Said friends tC has two doors so it is definitely a sports car.
