If you can stand the "roughness" get it. My friend has it, and think its not rough at all. Others think its to hard. Its a preference thing.

My advice: Go to the dealership and drive both, one with teh SSP, and one with out. Think if you handel the ride everyday, if you can go for it. If not, dont get it.

Advise from a 16yr

sts

I test drove the 05 with 18's and then the sts - 19's and much preferred the look of the 19's and the feel/handling of the sts. I would go for the sts package but try both, one after the other on the same circuit, back to back like I did.

I drive a sedan, but got the sports suspension package. BIG difference between loaners and when I'm in my G. I think on the coupe it'd be paramount.

If you've driven a dropped honda, you WILL STILL apreciate this sports tuned suspension of the G35 because it feels as if you're riding low, but without the worries of scraping, meaning better handling without the warranty or mechanical problem issues. However, if you come from a long line of luxury vehicles, this might not do your stomach right

My verdict, get it if you are a speed demon, don't if your a normal day to day driver, but definetely test drive both.

Sport suspension

Yeah if you like to ride hard and fast get the sport suspension. I have it on my 05 coupe 6mt. At first I wanted it for the bigger rims, but after driving it I was blown away. I have never driven an indy car but I imagine it feels like that. It's not as hard a ride as some people say.

I have it and love it. Without you have a "luxury" car, with: you have a luxury sports car. Eye is in the beholder. Drive both and decide...

Harsh

I just got my G35 coupe with the sports suspention. I use the car for a daily driver and wish I had not gotten the sports suspention. It is a much harsher ride than my miata. I do have to say I've never driven anything that handled as good as this car.

I'm not sure if its a good Idea, but I'm thinking of instaling some adjustable shocks like KYB. Has anyone one had any experience with these? Will it make a noticable difference? Whats the down side?

Like everyone said, drive both, but also keep in mind what you are using this car for.

Sport-Tuned Suspension Package $1600 1379
-Sport-tuned shock absorbers and springs.
-19-inch forged aluminum-alloy wheels.
-P225/40R19Y front and P245/40R19Y rear high-performance tires.
-Viscous Limited Slip Differential (VLSD).
-Aluminum pedals.
-Perforated leather and unique stiching on steering wheel

I love the handling, it's very direct, you feel the road yet it's composed. Wheels are a personal favorite, others may disagree. The summer tires are nice but you will need to switch to all-seasons or a winter wheel/tire combination during winter. Performance cars need this type of differential -my main reason for purchase. The different look of the seats and wheel is nice too.

I've got a delicate back and cannot handle cars with stiff or lowered suspensions. For example, I remember my old '91 Honda CRX Si that would jar my back and though it handled well it gave me back pain. I also rode in my friends stock C4 vette and it felt like I was riding a grocery cart with no suspension. I've also got the '05 coupe 6MT which comes standard with sport suspension and it's not harsh at all. I must say it is by far a much better handling car than most I've ever driven. It has almost no lean on turns and corners exceptionally well.

i had so much problems with low profile tires!

I will definitely get the coupe, with premium, automatic! White!

I'm coming out of an S2000. How does the sport suspension compare with that for anyone who's driven one? I'm sure the S2000 is much rougher riding but how much?

They are about the same....but I think the G rides a tad stiffer (sport suspension), not noticably different than the S2K in my opinion.
