2006 Projector Headlights: Clarify please..OEM?

Have '05 coupe:
The sought after 2006+ Projector Headlights upgrade:

I am unclear about what this headlight, and see many aftermarket manufacturers on various sites selling "projector headlights".

Are these different than the OEM headlights?
Still not sure where we go to buy these....looked on market place , but only see aftermarket non-OEM's..

thank you

Those other headlights may in fact be "projector headlights" but unless they're retrofitted with a good projector or simply 06-07 projectors they will most likely look like rice and have horrible output.
I don't think it's possible to get true, new projectors from anyone except a few Infiniti dealers nowadays. Search the private classifieds. There's ALWAYS a set being sold for a good price.

I thought they stopped making the OEM '06/'07 projectors a few months ago? I think they're going to be real hard to come by now for any sort of reasonable price.

Buff them out, simple task. Tho, you might have to buff every few months as they need to get dull again.

I had mine sanded, buffed, and re-cleared by a mobile paint shop in Dallas, TX for $50. They looked like crap before but they got them looking new again. It's been four months and I maintain them with Meguiars plastic polish. So far so good... Sorry for the large pic. Not sure how to make smaller...

Of course it eventually comes back. It happened in the first place didn't it?

Replace them if you want, but remember they will eventually get hazy too.

The point is, once you sand and polish you'll need to clean and polish on some regular interval to maintain them.

Do these OEM light covers pop off or can be replaced?
Thanks
I wet sand, buffed sealed, etc., And guess what it was inside the headlight lens.
I did the bake N shake the buffed it out w/meguiars ultimate compound then f/u w/meguiars headlight restoration kit. I used a high powered drill
Sorry didnt think to take pics at the time.
Came out like new.

1st, getting projectors for a "reasonable price" is a fairy tale. A "good deal" on those is $600. They normally go for $700+ and have for over a year. A couple years back, they were in the $450ish range and the tails were slightly less. But for projectors, get ready to pony up.

2nd, aftermarket stuff REALLY isn't worth a hot bag of soggy dookey. They all look like crap. Light output being low is bunch of elitist nonsense (well, I'm sure it's true of SOME but not of MOST), but they ALL look horrible. Seriously. They cheapen the look of the car. There are 2 that I have seen that IF AND ONLY IF you were able to pull a full VIP/bippu style on a coupe (which is VERY difficult if not impossible) may work. I don't know what they were called or who sold them. But, for the amount of money you'd have to spend on your car to properly complete that look, you're WAY more than OEM projectors.

C, in order to get rid of that oxidation, you gotta do a buff and sand. To keep it gone, you have to stay on top of keeping them clean. It never will just stay away forever. Personally, I'm thinking of keeping my old worn-out headlights and doing a lil custom work to make'em look awesome.
