I removed the shifter and swapped it over but the plastic piece didn't fit into the GTR **** and without it it wouldn't shift and had some movement... Im wondering if the G37 shifter stems have any major differences than the 04 shifter stem..

I read the thread on the G37 and it said "some plastic cutting" but they did not specify what they actually did

That shifter stem looks different than the G35 i think...

I have been doing some research and found that the "momo" **** that most people switch too for the autos, fits both the g35 and g37, so essentially this GTR **** should be able to fit for sure as far as getting it to work, I just have to figure out how to make it all mesh.

I think this will turn out awesome, The GTR **** is a good looking **** and would highlight the shifter column

did you ever figure out how to mount the GTR k n ob? I am trying to mount one on my 05 350 Z which seems to have the same setup as the g35. The kn ob from the GTR mounts on the shifter but the plastic piece is too big to go up inside the kn ob and be triggered by the shift actuator button at the top

To install, I'm going to assume it was the same as my M45 sport **** install.

What you need to do is change out the shifter rod to the newer version. Part number 34951-1LA0A
which was $20 at the dealer.

Then, a few mods to the shaft (as detailed into the thread) and the newer style ***** should clip onto the 1st gen shaft. I went with the M45 **** because my OEM **** looked like hell and a new one was MORE expensive than the M45 ****.

A cheaper, and nicer option for first gen guys is to install the FX shifter plate. This is the route I'd go if i had an 03/04 5AT.

I figured it out. Chopped the shaft down and put a plastic piece on the end of the inner shaft.

I went to the classifieds in gtrlife and found a guy selling a kn ob. He was nearby, so I drove to him and bought it.
