Is the 6MT Shudder & Chatter Fixed on the 2005 Models???
I am scheduled to go pick up my 2005 G35 sedan 6MT today. However, after reading several posts on this board, I am now worried the 6MT is a problem. I know most of the problems were with the 2003/04 models, but all of these posts has me worried.

Shudder and chatter? I drive a 2k3 and have been for almost 2 years now and I don't have shudder and chatter.
I honestly don't know what the issue is that people complain about. If you modulate the clutch properly and use enough throttle, the clutch engages quite smoothly with no chatter. I've never experienced the shudder/chatter. My guess is you're focusing too heavily on the few who have experienced it rather than those who haven't. realize that in forums things will appear to be more prevalent because people who have problems come to them to ask questions. You never see those who don't have the issue.
I don't think you need to worry. And if you do by some remote chance experience it on yours, likely it will be there from the get-go, and then you can make the dealer resurface the flywheel or replace the clutch disc.

Keep in mind that many posts about chatter seem to do with the gear noise in the 6MT tranny. And as far as I can tell, it's normal. Clutch chatter should not be a problem if the clutch is broken in correctly(easy clutch usage for the 1st 500 miles).

My '03 has clutch chatter most noticeable from a stop. Its done it since the day I got it new, and it hasn't changed 16k miles later. And I followed all the break-in procedures perfectly. I've owned manual tranny cars all my life (never owned an auto), and this is the first car I've ever driven that has had clutch chatter from new. I'm pretty sure its the clutch material they used is too 'grabby'. I don't think there is really anything "wrong" with it mechanically, other than it can be slightly annoying. I decided to live with it, as I would rather not have a dealer pull it all apart for such a minor problem.

True, because once fiddled with, it will never be the same and in fact can cause you more problems on the long run. I say if it works, and isn't getting in the way mechanically and noise wise, then don't worry about it.

The chatter is from the flywheel or throw-out bearing. This is a high performance clutch/flywheel, which don't apologize for noise. Maybe you don't want a G35.
Usually clutch chatter in old cars is caused by either a heat warped flywheel, or oil leaking onto the clutch disc. But I don't think either is the case here, which is why I think its the clutch material that is the culprit.
