Replace transmission or replace trans valve body

Hey everyone. A while back I had posted an issue with my 05 cp 5AT that I was experiencing. With research and user posts (thank you) I have confirmed that the p1757 and p1759 codes are a faulty valve body inside the trans. I'm at the point where I can r&r the trans or replace just the valve body. Im looking for what you all think would be the better thing to do. I can get a new trans valve body from the dealer for about $1,600 + fluid and gaskets. I have found various transmissions used from 80k-100k miles for ~$1,000+ fluid. Also, i found this link thank just the solenoids can be replaced http://www.makcotransmissionparts.co...Asolenoid.html but how do i know which ones i need and how many? I will be doing all the labor myself so r&r the valve body or the trans isn't a issue since its only my time. The other issue I'm coming across is that i'm having a hard time figuring which yrs 05-07 g's trans i can use. I found a 05 cp 5AT that is idential to my 05 but the dealer is telling me the trans part numbers are dif from my vin to that vin. So i can use this trans? they both are 5at's. So im looking for all of your opinions on which step would be the best. Thanks

If your doing the work yourself and an entire used tranny is only 1k vs 1600 for just the trans valve body I would snag a used transmission as I would presume this would also include a used trans valve body. From what Ive read these transmissions should be pretty stout. You could buy the transmission for 1k and swap the trans valve body out or just swap the entire trans and keep your existing for parts down the road. Seems ridiculous to spend $1600 for just "1" piece of a transmission but seems about right for a "dealer" price. Dealer prices are always a rape fest.

The only thing I am worried about is: I asked the dealer when I gave them vin numbers to check if the valve body was the same part number or dif. and each vin i gave had a dif part number on the valve body... so will a valve body with a dif part number fit into mine?

Old thread, so I doubt you will get a reply.
You can check out Sonnax that has nice pictures and descriptions on how to tell the different variations of the valve bodys apart.
Also check out https://www.infinitipartsdeal.com/ I don't know how accurate it is, but it will at least get in ballpark of which valve body you'd need. Make sure you put your car in by the VIN, not year/make/model
