'05 G35 6MT coupe -- 0-60 times?

easy now... I did a search! 90% of the claims I read were well before it was even available, and those were so unrealistic it was comical.

so anway...any credible sources publish anything on 0-60 times for the 6MT 05 Coupe?

Thanks in advance.

None that I have seen so far. I'm still breaking mine in, but I do want to check it soon.

Somewhere between 5.4 and 5.9, without a doubt.

I would like to think it is closer to that 5.4 mark, I just wish one of the 5 magazines I subscibe to would test the thing. The funny thing is when they finally test it, all those mags will have it the same month. I am really curious because I am not sure it feels like a 5.4 car. Although I only have 600 miles on it so I am not willing to really push it that hard yet. I expected it to be a little easier to spin the tires though, and yes I did have the VDC off. Maybe it's because I just drove a friends RS6 and my dad's SL55, those things will taint you, let me tell you. Nothing feels fast after playing in those cars. Don't get me wrong I love the car and it is fast, it would be fun to get it on the track.

BTW dentalstud (I assume you are a dentist), where are you from. I'm in So Cal, graduated SC 02 but headed to florida for ortho school this summer (trading one beach state for another).

Went to VCU (aka Medical College of Virginia) in Richmond, where I grew up. Graduated last year. Now living and practicing in Lynchburg, VA. I take it that you're LDS from your undergrad school choice...had several classmates who were the same, some of my best friends in school. Although they never could convince me of their theology (I'm a Christian in the fundamental sense), we had many friendly "debates". Oh, and my last name is Hawkins, I take it you are a Hawkins also? Good luck with ortho!

And I agree...the car feels fast, but not quite as much as I had hoped. I just got an '04 Twilight Blue 6mt.

That's pretty funny your last name is Hawkins also (I don't have any reletives back east that I know of). Without getting on a religious discussion, I grew up with a lot of "Born again christians" (not many LDS guys at my highschool). They are all great guys and still great friends! I highly respect their values and morals!

I applied to VCU for ortho, they seem to have a good program, but I got the feeling they weren't all that interested in a surfer boy from California. I got that feeling from a lot of schools back east, it seems like they didn't really think I would be willing to pick up and move east if I it came down to a choice between a Ca school and one back east. The funny thing is, I did get into a Ca school and here I am picking up and moving east. I think we are going to have the car shipped though, even though it would be great to drive it cross country I couldn't stomach putting 3000 miles on it in 10 days! Good to meet you.

seeing how they only have 70 post between them, i guess i'll forgive them

now as far 0-60 times, i wish it was 5.4 but i think its gonna be more like 5.8, remember than it lost 10 ft-lbs of torque, so it cant be that much faster than an 04, but i think 1/4 mile times will be much faster.

i'll let you guys know in a couple of weeks when i get mine.

the Dealer at Rosenthal Infiniti said most likely around

5.7 seconds so 5.8 would probably be the most accurate given the fact that most dealers tend to twist the truth, shall we say heh. Just my 2 cents

It gains 18 HP but it lost 10 ft-lb of TQ and gain 100 lb. So I think it will either be the same, performance wise, or marginally faster. Since the 03-04 already make it to 60 in 2nd gear, the 400 addition RPM will not help much in 0-60. I assume 1/4 mile will be either .1 or .2 after at most. So bottom line is, it'll basically have the same performance. Driver alone can have wider margin than .1 or .2 sec in 1/4 mile.

while other says

2003 Infiniti G35 Sedan 6.2 14.8
2003 Infiniti G35 Coupe 5.5 14.2

I dont think that the 03 or 04 g35 will reach 60mph in 2nd gear.. I tried this before and I hit the rev limiter before I got to 60mph.. so for the 05 g35, the extra 400 rpm will save 0-60 time since you dont have to shift to third.
