Bad business?
Bad business?
Sup guys,
I ordered a 2005 6mt back in late Nov with VPP. Dealer told me today that the vehicle will be in sometime in March, with no exact date as of yet. If I were to find another dealership that honors VPP and have the car available much sooner than March, would it be bad business to switch dealerships? I believe the VPP number is still valid while the vehicle is on order, meaning that I could technically use it at another dealership. Talk about being impatient, but hey, why not get the car now if I can huh?
Would you stay with the original dealership, or switch?
Any help is appreciative.

you are paying so just switch. I don't think its bad in any ways. You are trying to look out for yourself. If you can find a car yourself and they don't wanna get it for you, by all means go with whoever you found it with. What pisses me off is that i ordered mine locally and they told me they will give me a call when they get one. I just found out today that they had one and sold it to somebody.
So go switch... and post when you get your new ride

Why not? Infiniti doesn't actually even take orders. They just wait for the car that you want to come in and then they call you and tell you your car has arrived. Of course we're so close to March and you've been waiting so long, it will probably put you two steps back if you change things around now.
Exactly, inifinti does not take "orders". You must understand that these cars come and go and that the dealer can easily make some serious cash without a VPP so they would be doing you a favor. With that said, some dealers might give you the run around until they have sold it to all the people who aren't doing VPP then come to you when things slow down a bit. "Your" car could have already been there and gone by now without you ever knowing a darn thing. Also, once a VPP number has been put in the computer at the dealership with a VIN assignment, there is no turning back, for you OR the dealer. March is around the corner, I'd ask for an estimated date or else go asking around some other dealers. But like I said, depending on your location, a dealer may not even choose to honor it.
