I am thinking about getting a G35 coupe and I was just curious if there are any known issues with these cars as they get to the 100k mile mark. Sounds like nissan reliability is hit or miss, so I wasn't sure where these fell. If I buy one with 100k miles, am I going to start seeing big repairs? Guess these cars have timing chains, which is good.

Look to be ridiculed if you don't spend the 2-3x the value of your car on wheels and 2 toned paint jobs

That's all I can think of at the top of my head. All these issues vary depending on which year car you have and if it's AT or MT. Do a search on any one of those and you should get about 18305728 hits.

Other things to check are suspension issues such as worn bushings... basically every bushing and endlink.
Check for play and noise in wheel bearings
I have an 03 coupe MT and other than regular maintenance such as fluid changes, spark plugs, belts and brakes here is a list of what I have had to change:
Passenger side door lock actuator,
Clutch and flywheel,
Passenger side camshaft positions sensor (twice now)
Lower control arm bushings (about to do it for the second time this weekend along with struts)
Overall its been a reliable car
Check for play and noise in wheel bearings
I have an 03 coupe MT and other than regular maintenance such as fluid changes, spark plugs, belts and brakes here is a list of what I have had to change:
Passenger side door lock actuator,
Clutch and flywheel,
Passenger side camshaft positions sensor (twice now)
Lower control arm bushings (about to do it for the second time this weekend along with struts)
Overall its been a reliable car

05-07 6mts (revup motor) have oil burning issues. Some don't but enough do for it to be a well known problem.
Compression rod bushings and lower control arm bushings go bad on every single one of these cars.
Steering knuckle ball joints
Camshaft and crankshaft position sensors go bad a lot.
The Bose stereo almost always has an issue where the left side speakers won't work when playing a CD. Quality aftermarket dash kits are hard to come by, garbage ones are plentiful.
No adjustable camber and all of our front tires wear on the inside which causes us to have to look to the aftermarket for adjustable parts.
Throttle bodies get dirty to the point of stalling on warm starts and need to be cleaned more often than you want to.
Bleeding the cooling system is involved and annoying.
Spark plug changes are involved and annoying.
Paint scratches easily.
Window motors go out a lot (not mine personally).
Perferated interior material comes apart on its own.
Fuel gauge is never accurate, but it IS consistent.
Some people have axle clicks.
End links go bad a lot.

This is very accurate. Let me put it into perspective for you. I have changed my drivers side window motor 4 times. I've gotten damn good at pulling the door panel, and damn good at warrantying faulty parts.Originally Posted by Gdirtyfive55
