Service: Who to take to?

Have had my '05 coupe for a year now, 64k miles....

Want to bring it in for some basic oil, brakes, cabin filter change..

What is recommended place to take to?

Infiniti Dealership
Nissan Dealership
Local small speed shop I am friends with. (they build racing engines, and take care of some hi end sports cars around town.

Also, I bought a Route 66 Extended Warranty when I purchased care last year. They let me buy one due to low miles.

>>>Note: I work a lot, and do not desire to work on vehicle myself..

I'm sure a "speed shop" can handle routine maintenance. If not, than a Nissan dealership.

I've been dealing with my Infiniti Dealer for 6 years. Yes, the shop rate is high. Why would I take it to a Nissan dealer?

Cabin filter you can do yourself, there's a youtube video on it.
Oil change anyone can do like Walmart.
Brakes I would recommend any ol mechanic who's good at it like your local speed shop.

Personally I would never take it to the stealership unless if it's covered by warranty or you absolutely need to have them to do it. Otherwise the rest of the stuff a good mechanic or even yourself can pull off. Heck I was a complete idiot with mechanical stuff up until I got my G. And slowly now I'm doing more and more things on my own. Amazing feeling I tell you!

Good for you, man. It is a good feeling. Its fun too (provided you don't hit too many snags in any given job. Then it can be frustrating).

You can take it to your local reputable mechanic to do most everything. i am sure members on here can recommend a good one if you post your location.

Regular maintenance can be done by any independent shop, but make sure you pick ones that you know do good work. I stay away from dealerships as much as possible due to their high service charges and sometimes I just don't trust them with my car lol. Only time I'd take it to a dealer is for warranty work or recalls. I know a bunch of independent Nissan/Infiniti specialty shops in my area that I take to for routine maintenance and aftermarket parts installations.

Wal mart is currently offering an oil change and freeze proof window washer refill for $16 .

It's getting hard to beat the best.

Dealership charges more, of course, but don't forget that you can often get a free loaner while your G is in for service, if that matters to you.
