Did you have to change out the stock shocks?

Thumbs up

I'm still on my stock shocks and struts. The ride is still beautiful but, I'm looking for a set of Tokico D-Specs as of now since they are hard to find and when I find a set I'm going to purchase them and hold on to them until I need to install them. I'm purchasing the Tanabe swaybars to go along with my Tanabe NF210's. Like I said my coupe rides and handles beautifully, I can't complain not one bit. This me in my coupe this is me wondering why people spend more money than necessary .

Man, I know you wanna believe Mr brooks, and that's all good, but my car is lowered .8" in the rear and was not able to get the toe back without a kit. Maybe Mr brooks is so cool that his car is better than everyone else's, but be prepared to spend more when you lower it. If you don't end up having to, great, but plan on it. There is a difference between "in spec" and optimal.

Scraggle you jelly bro. I never said my car was better. I just gave MY experience. If you're mad because I didn't need a camber kit and you did that's your problem not mine. Also, I never said he won't need a camber kit, if you check my post I said he may not need one but, before buying one get an alignment and check his tires from time to time and see if he does need one. I'm not the only one who didn't need a camber kit saywat didn't need one either and now that I think about it. My brother owns a G37s and after lowering his coupe on Eibach prokit springs and an alignment he didn't need one either. So, you go ahead and be jelly I'll just keep enjoying my coupe with no camber kit and beautiful ride, peace.

Ha! Err men ggeeeerrdd I'm sooo jealous. Don't be retarded. You are absolutely suggesting that he won't need a camber kit, and he obviously is listening to what he wants to hear from you. "This is me wondering why people spend more than they need to", nobody is spending more than they need to. You act as if the money spent on those kits was unnecessarily spent. Just tell him the truth about these cars in general, not how your car somehow has longer control arms than everyone else's.

OP you will more than likely NEED a camber kit.

I'm really not choosing sides! I just registered on here and want to get some opinions because I'm having trouble deciding with the 20" rims. How is your car set up? Did you roll fenders and get a camber kit? The only reason I was thinking about his advice is because he has 20" rims like me

I am telling him the truth what I and others have experienced from our cars IS THE TRUTH. My control arm are no longer than yours but, you somehow think eeevvvveeeerrrryyyybody on a mild drop needs a camber kit. He asked for opinion and I gave it And like I said over and over again but, I'll say it a little louder since your eyes and or brain couldn't comprehend. AFTER HE LOWERS HIS CAR ON A MILD DROP GET AN ALIGNMENT AND CHECK HIS TIRES FROM TIME TO TIME TO SEE IF HE DOES NEED A CAMBER KIT BUT, ONLY BUY IT IF HE NEEDS IT AND NOT BEFORE WHY SPEND MONEY ON SOMETHING HE MAY NOT NEED.

Cedward, I'm on 20x8.5 and 20x10 with 255 35 20's in front and 275 30 20's in the rear. My car does rub a little but, only fron time to time and not all the time. This is my second coupe (first one was in an accident my fault). After I checked my rear inner fender lip I can see where my tires bately catch the fender. I was considering get the rear fenders rolled like I did on my previous coupe but, choose not to due to the paint chipping if it's not done correctly and you can also see ripples in your quarter panel as well if not done correctly. Instead I'm going to have a small portion of the inner lip trimmed to not only give my 275's more clearance but, also the 285's I'll be installing later should clear as well. I have instagram I'll try to upload some pics of my coupe.

In all seriousness, Scraggle, when you move on from the your G35, give me a holler. I'll happily purchase it from you (assuming it's a 6mt). You may have the most overly maintained car on this site. Sounds dumb in forum conversations, but resale...it's worth ALL the money and it problem it should not have.

OP: if you lower your car without changing your tires, they're gonna rub. Your car is high because of your tires. Not your wheels. However, they look to be either 35series or 40 series. I wouldn't really recommend changing those to anything smaller as you may begin to feel the road more than you care to. I would recommend a G35 eibach sport spring kit for you and an alignment check. You PROBABLY won't need an alignment because it's barely any lower, but get it checked anyway.

Hahaha tell me again how you're an expert on suspension geometry?

How many times have you had every piece of your suspension laying in the driveway and put all back together, then after every single time taking it to an alignment shop and seeing what's really going on? For me its about 10 times with this car, so go ahead and post your alignment data sheets and explain how you "like your camber that negative". I'll post multiple before and after alignment sheets to show you how this works. But yes, my G is very well taken care of.
