New purchase

Hello everyone, I am new here and hope to stick around.

I may be purchasing a 2006 G35 A/T coupe, and wanted to ask what are things I should be looking out for? I have researched a bit and hear the timing chain tensioners can go bad, and that a lot of G35 MT's get oil consumption issues but am unclear if that effects the A/T's.

Any and all advice would be appreciated!

There should be no real oil concerns. That tsb was for 05-07 6mt coupes and 05/06 6mt sedans. Any car can burn oil tho, so buying a used car you should keep tabs on all fluids for a month or two.

Welcome to the G community! You have the AT, should not have an oil problem.

things that might bite you:
-Oil consumption. but not a biggie. just keep a extra bottle in the space where the MBC is..
-PCV valve and the oil return to the intake manifold. HATE this design. gives you wet plugs on some older motors. fix == catch can
-Cats might go bad.. the oem cats when fed poor gas smell awful and like throwing codes.. good news HFCs are cheap and most are bolt on if your mechanically inclined.
-*some* second gen have console stack issues. things like the radio turning off and on, or the heater magically resting itself mid use. (cheap soder)
-it will not be cheap to hit 300hp at the wheels. if its cheap... its wrong. (mantrasize this!)

I love the car though ... have a 20065at myself.
