Need to change my Motorydyne TDX2, but want to keep my ARTs

Hey guys,

So, I've been running the motordyne TDX2 exhaust with ART pipes for some time now. I know a lot of members on this forum really like this set-up, but to be honest, I just want something quieter. My G is 6MT and the engine is built and supercharged. From what I've been told, with my set-up I could burn my oem cats out. That being said, I want to keep my ART pipes, but I don't know what other combination of exhaust with ARTs would meet my needs. I definitely don't want rasp or drone. Right now, I don't get rasp, but I do get some drone at times. The quieter the better though. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

Control your right foot . There is your exhuast control. They make silencers to fit into the exhaust.. Maybe you can have one made to fit the 6" extensions.

Hello! He has a built and supercharged motor, that little chicken **** exhaust wouldn't survive behind that engine without crazy rasp and droan! Best idea is throttle control and shifting at lower rpms...Gary

Hey Gary, nice to see you here Yes I know throttle control and shifting at lower rpms will help, but as you probably already know I moved outside of the US years ago. When I'm on the autobahn or other European roads at highspeeds for extended periods of time, the loudness gets old. Its hard to enjoy the extra power when its loud the entire time. I think for the US market, the exhaust is great. The speeds in the US are not as fast and a bit of spirited driving doesn't last as long. Even with an oem exhaust I could hear the exhaust but not nearly as much as now. Just trying to find another option that would be fairly quiet at normal speeds, which in theory, should be quieter at high speeds as well. I'm thinking I might be stuck, but I'm open to ideas that will work with my ARTS. Thanks.

Have an exhaust shop modify an OEM-like muffler. I had a stock G37 muffler modified to have twin 3" inlets. It will kill power 20% but is very quiet.

You can get metal substrate cats. They will survive forced induction. The ART pipes should mate up with any stock exhaust. I would recommend you sell the axle back of your TDX2 to another Motordyne customer and then have custom work done from the axle back.
