Replacing the compression rod bushings with Whiteline polyurethane bushings.
To remove the old bushing I brought a 2" hole saw from my local Home Depot store and cut out the center bushing. With the center bushing remove I use a sawzall or if you don't have a sawzall you can get by with a hack saw to cut the metal bushing housing to relieve the tension aluminum compression rod. Once the tension was relieve you can knock out the remain old bushing.
The compression rod has a chamfer end on one side but not on the other side. I used a dremel tool to chamfer the side without a chamfer so that the poly bushing can go in more easily.
Here's some pics of the compression rods with the new bushings.
Hopefully this will get rid of that annoying rattle from the driver side.
