top rear part of my g35 coupe window hitting outer trim
What's up everyone? I'm new here and this is my first post. I've been looking around and haven't found any answers yet. I just recently purchased an 04 G35 coupe and the passenger side window hits the outer trim and has caused it to break the mounting buttons on the trim piece. Can the window be adjusted? The door lines all line up properly so um def thinking its a week now adjustment needed. Thanks for your help.

I think we share the same problem.
When the door is opened, the window should drop about 1/2". When it is closed, it should return back to the original position sealing the window. My driver's side only moves about 1/8" and slightly touches the outer trim (not quite as severe as what you are experiencing). I too have searched but have not found a solution. Window reset maybe?

Hmm. Maybe so. I wasn't aware that the window was supposed to automatically drop slightly when the door is open and then return back closed when its shut. I def think mine needs adjusting though. I have to shut the door and then roll it up or roll it up almost all the way and then press in on the top of the window while I shut it for it to not hit the outer trim. Its very annoying.

I already suggested reading the factory service manual. Google G35 factory service manual and you will find it under GW.PDF. It outlines how to adjust the window properly.
But sounds to me like you need to try to reset the motor first. If the motor doesn't want to reset it could be on its way out.

I'd try doing a window motor reset first. It's really easy to do if you're technical enough to be able to remove your door cover (doesn't require much technical skill to do).
Does the window sit flush when it's up and seal tightly without any water leaking in or wind noise while traveling at highway speeds? If it's not sealing right, then it could be a window alignment issue as well.

It seats right for the most part. Haven't noticed any leaking. Slight wind noise though. The rear part is def going up too high. I'm going to pull the panel off soon and adjust it and also reset it because the windows roll back down 1/4 of the way after the auto up gets to the top. Thanks for the help fellas.
