runaway idle

Hey guys, not sure who is all still here as it's been a while. Wanted to get opinions on the cause of an issue I'm having.

Off the gas, on the clutch and brake to stop at a light; RPM's start climbing to what would be the limit if I didn't kill it. Makes getting home fun! Using the clutch to wind it down and not let it grab, build boost and blow the tires off...

Pull up on the throttle pedal with the top of my foot and it seems to help some, but either way pretty strange... I sure miss mechanical throttles.

Pedal potentiometer?
Throttle body (TPS, servo)?
Idle relearn?
Something else?

I just haven't had time to dig into it. thought I'd gather your thoughts.

Boost? Are you turbo/supercharged?
Post some details about your car so people can give more accurate info.

Correct, vortech supercharged:

Stock pulley
ID 725's
Walbro 255
Uprev GT MAF
Uprev tuned (have tuner version, tuned in TX )
Stillen headers
Berk HFC's
Borla cat back
MREV2 & spacer
JWT clutch and fly, one piece drive shaft. More in my stats, but that should cover the bases.

I'd start by hooking up an OBD-II realtime reader and see what the TPS is saying for throttle position when it starts reving up. Try to poke around in the engine bay and look for leaks in vacuum hoses or possibly a hose that slipped off of a fitting. Start with the easy stuff.

Do you have one of those bluetooth OBD-II readers? Those things are great for debugging stuff like this.

Yeah, I have both a code reader with live data capability and my tuning software has basically the same software/abilities as consult 2.

I hear ya on the troubleshooting with these tools. I've just been putting it off as the G is not my daily and honestly, I haven't even driven it since fall. (Start it and move it occasionally) Figured I'd just post and get everyone's feel or see if anyone had this issue before I actually spent 5 minutes to actually troubleshoot.

As a matter of fact now that I think about it, I've probably spent more time on this thread than what it would take to do the work... Lol! (I'm a huge procrastinator obviously)

Appreciate the reply. I will look at all the usual stuff and see if anything is off such as:

TPS
Accelerator pedal pos
Coolant temp
IAT
MAF
Set idle RPM and even target AFR's and both fuel trims,
