Still the best car on the market....
Just a random post to say the G35 is still the nicest car on the market. I have an 04, looks pretty brand new still, I put 7k miles on it a year on average, its garaged 98% of the time.
Around Thanksgiving I was putting new calipers, rotors and pads on the car and was having a problem, the brakes were still spongy. (Turns out I had been sent defective rear calipers) As I took the tires off and on over several days trying to find out if there was a leak in a brake line, bleeding and re-bleeding the lines I forgot to tighten up the drivers side tire and driving home Thanksgiving night the tire flew off (but managed to stay in the wheel well thank god) so the car did not hit the ground. It screwed up the fender though so right now the car is at the body shop getting a new fender put on. Enterprise rental met me at the body shop and Enterprise guys says to me, I have a spunky little car for you, a brand new VW Beetle or Bug. Definitely a chick car but its brand new with all the bells and whistles and does have a little kick to it a "210 Turbo, ha, engine". I was like neat... jumped in the brand new car and by the time I got in the car for the second time, I said I want my G35 back!
So I look forward to tomorrow to get this VW off my driveway and the G35 back. Then its put on the new suspension and then up to the tire shop to have the new rims mounted on the car.
In the spring I thought about buying a new car and rotating the G35 to the non primary car... I looked at the new Maxima, all the Lexus' (80k+) for some and nothing, nothing at all impressed me or made sense to buy.
I don't know how long I will keep the G35 as my primary car but until Infiniti or someone steps up their game... nothing is nicer then the G35 even after all these years..... the lines, the exhaust note, the car is just HOT (and fun to drive!)

Well... you are comparing it to a super-faggy VW beetle... LOL. I hate those cars with a passion and would rather have practically anything else over one of those.... not to mention that everyone I know of who has one of those has nothing but problems with them.
Yeah... G35's are still decent cars considering their age, but there are definitely better cars out there now depending on what your goals are.
Good looking, sporty and luxurious RWD 4-seater coupes available in a 6MT are a rarity and this car checks a lot of the boxes that others don't even though it's not that fast by today's standards.
Similar class cars are Chrysler Crossfire (Slow as crap), various Mercedes (overpriced and reliability issues), BMW 3-series (expensive to maintain), and Pontiac GTO (quality and looks are not that great, but stupid fast with tons of mod potential).

I was just reading this morning that you can get an ATS-V in a 6MT. That's a 476 hp, twin turbo v6 coupe with a manual trans. I want to test drive one now. At least just to compare. The new Infiniti Q60 will have a 400 hp twin turbo V6, but no word on transmission options yet.
Today's article on the new Q still disappointed me :/

I'm just glad we finally got something to keep up. Wouldn't mind a V8 option instead of a small displacement turbo.

I have an 04 coupe. I'm original owner. Kept nice. Only problem is driver ripped seat, the typical issue everyone has on the side.
I still like the original body style the best. The car is definitely still good looking in comparison to today's new cars. I think it's a relatively timeless looking car.
I can't seem to part with it. Especially since I could likely only get 7k.
I have never ever had a problem with my car. Rock solid. Extremely dependable. I just put on new rotors, brakes, mans red calipers from power stop extreme. $600 for all 4 off eBay. Look and work fantastic.
