factory audio?

so as i'm looking more and more into keeping my 03 coupe till it dies, aftermarket audio begins to interest me. I know the speed side of these cars, but audio wise what can i do to get clean crisp music and bass that can be felt well. Replacing factory speakers and running aftermarkets on factory amps? maybe reroute the rear 6x9s into 1 real sub? are these things possible. I look up a lot of stuff, but i just can't find the answers as easy as i did in the honda days, so i'm sorry if this post is misplaced or too rambly

Opinions will vary widely with everyone. Basically, what system do you currently have? Bose or standard? How much money are you willing to invest?

i have the bose and am willing to invest about a grand give or take as necessary, currently rocking the aux cord routed through the dash, like i'd rather drop a grand into speakers and a sub than like 600 into a headunit and dash replacement and 400 into speakers.
like i've considered swapping in full polk mm audio, like the mm6501 in front mm5251 in rear and the mm6x9 in the far back and just leaving it like tht

Sounds like you have a decent Plan already. For the aux look into the PAC aux adapter. From there you could change the speaks, factory amp and add a sub and stay well under a grand.

Get a decent head unit. Something like pioneer 4800bhs. Get really good front component speakers like focal or.hertz. forget the rear speakers completely and get a amp. And if u want bass u can throw a 10 or 12 in.

Upgrade to metra (ugly, but cheap) with feasibly priced DDin, Delete rear speakers and run good coax speakers up front and buy Zenclosures sub box 10/12" for sides. Leave rear speaker holes empty for good bass pass through.

Bleh, bose is garbage. You can get away with using the oem radio with an aftermarket amp and speakers. Tbats what i did before my tablet install. Replace the garbage paper 6x9's with REAL 6x9 speakers, dont even wire up the back 6.5's and replace the front 6.5's and tweets. The. Later on you can save up for a JDM DD kit. Metra is crap, and you can get a used JDM DD for almost yhe same price. Well worth the extra $$

Agree with Frost. Factory HU is garbage, Bose or not. You won't get even close to the true potential of aftermarket speakers until you do an aftermarket HU. You can pick up high quality 6.5s for seriously cheap if you are ok with not buying this year's best product. Same goes for 6x9s.

I have a sedan so no 6x9s but I'm running 6.5s front/rear and factory tweets with aftermarket HU and I can bump it pretty good with sharp bass and crisp, clear mids/highs. Haven't gotten a sub/amp yet because I'm waiting for a 4080 or something similar to pop up. My next step is to replace the factory tweets. And then if I lose patience, pop in my older MTX 12" and amp combo.

One thing I did to boost the 6.5s was to cut out the trash speakers from the factory mounts and then mounted the aftermarket speakers to the factory mounts. This created a nice, crisp air space and everything bolted up.

i thought the backs were 5.25", i was gonna do a full polk mm swap with 6501 in front 5251 in back seat area and 691 in the rear. also already saving for the jdm dd kit, problem is my priorities are motordyne art pipes/xyz and tdx2. So i was trying to not drop the grand into my audio if i could just drop like $350 into speakers

Maybe sedans have 5.25 but my coupe had 6.5 front and back. The backs WILL need spacers and there is no bass chamber for them. The fronts i got away without spacers with my JBL GTO speakers

nah i have an 03 coupe, i would replace the fronts and rears without touching the mids if i could disconnect the old mids without removing all the interior haha. But i have a little rectangular mesh in the rear passenger seating area and i assumed it was far too small for 6.5" but y'all are probably right, all my research has said 6.5" coax in rear of g35
