'05 MT vs '04 MT

Is there a difference in the shifting charateristics of manual trans. in the '05 and '04 models? I heard the synchronization of the shifting was improved, making for smoother shifts.

Weird, ChazM has a 2005 6MT (I've seen it at the track) and he says the vibrations are still there. Others seem to say that the vibrations are not as noticable. Do those people actually own a 2005 6MT?

BTW, a modded 2004 6MT coupe can beat a stock 2005 6MT coupe in the 1/4 mile. (Sorry Chaz, I just had to rub it in a little)

When I tested them back to back the )5 had a lighter clutch and the shifter did take less effort to move it throught the gears although the throws didn't seem significantly shorter.

this is exactly right. i traded an '04 for the '05 and noticed it the second i pulled out of infiniti. the shift however, appears to be 'longer' or rather 'higher' by about an inch or so. could be me but i'm almost sure there is a difference there.

vibration on the shift is about the same.
the 'ride' is stiffer do to the enhanced sport-tuned suspension. feels a bit like a porche ride. still prefer it over the '04 though.

The shifting on the '03, '04's must be really bad, my '05 sucks compared to ANY car I have owned and I 've be driving sticks for over 20 years. There is a catch while trying to get it into 2nd and 3rd, I have read this from other people posting here too.

I think I'm going to try switching to Redline fluid to see if it helps.
