05 5at manual mode questions
05 5AT guys is it normal not being able to rev above 3k -4k in 4th and 5th gear while in manumatic mode?
Obviously im going about 60 down the freeway while trying this out. I can put my foot to the floor and redline 1 through 3rd and then when I get to 4th gear it doesnt wanna rev passed 3 - 4k Same thing with 5th gear.
Whats up with this? Its dont it since I bought the car. If I slap it back in Drive it will pull through all 5 gears and redline all of them no problem
There are not error lights or CEL.

I think the issue is that im not going fast enough for 4th gear. I should be going 80+ in 4th right?
This was just pointed out to me. I was in 4th going 60 when this happened
I think I misread your post a little.
I can't comment on 5th gear as I've never gotten the car up to 4K RPM in 5th, but when in 4th gear I could still accelerate well past 80MPH without feeling as if it hit any sort of limiter.
I'll have to pay attention to my next drive though.

60 mph to 80 should be for 3 not 4th, is what someone was telling my as to why the rpms felt like they were going anywhere in 4th gear at 60mph.
Redlining 4th and 5th gear has proved to be tougher done than said. Need more room.
I will try redling 3rd whoch is around 80-100 mph and seeig where that leaves me in 4th gear and if the rpms increase from there.

Do you have any experience driving a manual transmission?
Pay less attention to MPH, and more to RPM. 4th gear at 60MPH is what? 2000 RPM or somewhere near there? You need to downshift to 3rd gear, as you approach redline, shift to 4th.
Basically, If I'm under 3000RPM, I downshift a gear when I go wide open throttle.
And yes, 4th gear at 60MPH will be slow, but I was able to accelerate through 80MPH and beyond.
