350z suspension to be installed questions
350z suspension to be installed questions
I recently bought a complete set of OEM 350z front and rear springs and shocks. I plan to have it all installed on monday or Tuesday. I would attempt it myself but I live in a townhouse and have niether the room or patience.
I'm wondering if there are some things I need to know about this instal. What to expect, tips and tricks? I know this will be a very very minor drop. Which is exactly what I want. I am going to keep the the stock 18's and just use spacers to make them fit the way thay should have from the begging.
I have seen that some folks don't see a drop at all in the rear, but maybe there is a trick or two out there?
If anyone has gone theough this already or has some input I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks

I did this exact swap on my coupe a few years ago. It's really just as simple as remove/replace. I didn't get a drop at all in the rear. One of the tricks, that I found after searching this site, was to cut the rear perches that the spring sits in. You'll need a hacksaw and a lot of patience to cut through the rubber/plastic. You can search for rear spring perch mod to get an idea. I have an 06 coupe with sport suspension & 19" wheels, so I don't know if that's why I didn't get the 1/2" drop that others have had.

Thats because the springs from a 350z and 05+ g35 coupe are the same. Two red dots and one purple dot. I could be wrong though.

Install complete. Turned out perfect!
The Z front shock assembly is about .5 shorter than the G, and thats exactly the drip I got up front
The Z Rear springs were about .25" shorter and again that was the drop I got initially before cutring off another .25" to get an even stance.
The ride quality is muche better too, since I went from 100k miles suspension to 30k mile suspension.
Now I will need the 25mm soacers to get it looking right.
