OEM Tire Size

OEM Tire Size
Has anyone else noticed that the only tires that are available for the G35 once you ware out the OEM’s are the two brands/sizes that come with the car?
So far this is the only issue that really bugs me about the G35. Check out the web site http://www.tirerack.com Click on Tires at the top, select the tire size 215-55-17 click search, then search again on the next web page. The two Summer tires Goodyear Eagle RS-A and Bridgestone Turanza are the only ones listed. Click on the Survey Results for each of these tires. You will see they aren’t rated very good at all.
Changing the size to 225-50-17 staying with 26" overall diameter gives you one more tire choice, the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. I drove an Acrua with these tires on it and they sounded like snow tires to me however they got great ratings.
If you change your wheels and go to 18" wheels, and choose 225-45-18 still staying with 26" overall diameter tires so as not to through off the speedometer you will have 5 different tire choices all with much better reviews like the Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position.
The issue is the 26” diameter tire size, not easily fixed without changing the speedometer ratio and overall gear ratio. Most tires seem to fall in the 25” diameter range. The Nissan Maxima shares this same issue.

Re: OEM Tire Size
R&T tested the G35 with GYr's RSA 215/55R-17 93V M+S. Tire is not available Tulsa; My G35 came w/OEM GYr's GS D which has been discontinued. Its replacement, GS DII not avail this market, also. Without changing my wheels' dimension (17), I would like to find an all season radial which not only adds to my safety, but my enjoyment of its performance and brilliance.
