After market G35 coupe seats or original?

My car is due for new front seats and I was wondering whether I should consider after market seats or used seats for 2003 G35 coupe?

Any preferences here? Both my front seats are pretty torn so I am in the market for new or used with budget less than $500.

Thanks

Why don't you upholster your existing seats. It seems that way you'll retain the heated seats and air bags.

I intend to buy the OE leather and reupholster my seats, heated seats feel damn good in the winter even here in SoCal...Gary

i would prefer aftermarket seats, just for the weight savings. careful with a budget of only $500, lots of replica seats out there that are unsafe.

This. Pay a good shop to recover them (even customize little details like stitching color).

If you're handy, save the $ and do if it yourself.

If you do go aftermarket, just spend the money and get something that is safe & of quality - cheating out will at worst be unsafe and at best leave you making an identical thread soon when something breaks/tears/doesn't fit.

Either way, do it right or don't do it.

Thanks for your help and suggestion and you are right, do it right the first time or will be spending more down the road.

I am leaning toward after market seats so any suggestion or recommendation would greatly appreciated.

I don't think you will find any aftermarket seats that fit your budget. You'll spend 500 each at least for a seat then you'll need seat rails, about 150 each. If your replacing both seats you'll spend 1500 before your all done with shipping, taxes etc.

I would look into reuphosery or check the classifieds for someone selling OEM seats that they pulled out and replaced with aftermarket.
