sudden downshift

got the car with 107k now has 124k, i changed tranny fluid and filter probably about 7-10k miles ago pan and drop never had any major issues since i've had it. was driving home from the grocery store and all of a sudden felt a jerk and than felt like car was dying at about 45mph but than notice rpm's rev and car grabbed again. car down shifted fine as i was coming to the turn for my street and than coasted home fine didnt feel any loss of grab or anything, i was thinking of doing another drain and fill clean out some of the old fluid since i've only done it once since i've had the car and god knows how long before they changed the fluid before. any suggestions are greatly appreciated...

G35 ricin it's likely not the fluid, if the level is right it is fine. Check your trouble codes, sounds like a sensor failure.

Yes - pull ECU codes. If you're not comfortable doing it, plenty of auto parts places will do it for free.

Update: So the downshift has only happened the one time and since than the car was running fine, no CEL or issues. Went out with my friend last night and all of a sudden the car turned off. went to turn back on and had to give it a little gas but turned back on and sounded the same, except all my lights were on slip, CEL, etc... So left the car parked went and had a couple drinks and drove it back home about 12 miles and drove fine. I had unplugged the battery prior to that and now the CEL stayed on. So pulled codes this morning at the autoparts and heres the codes that came up. I already knew about the knock sensor one but the rest i have no clue.

p0327
p0340
p0327
p0340
p0011

I'm no expert, but...

You have knock and camshaft position sensor on there twice. The other one has to do with camshaft position and advanced timing.

Basically, my guess would be that your car is running like trash because you have 2-3 bad sensors, dirty connectors, or bad/exposed wiring.

Take a peek at your connections and any obviously exposed wires. If can't fix it by cleaning connectors/adding dielectric grease, have a pro look at it.

Just my $.02.

thanks for the suggestion, going to unplug and clean all the connections i see. I researched the knock sensor one a while ago cause had a CEL and was a wire that usually deteriorates over time that needs to be replaced on the harness $35 and change the knock sensor. But don't have time to take the top half of the engine apart to do that.

heck no not at all. Car runs fine until looks like sensor gets hot than starts acting up, i literally work 1 mile away so dont do much driving until this is fixed. From what i've been reading p0340 has caused exact same problem i have with others members cars. All lights come back on and car just shuts off but turns right back on. They replaced camshaft position sensor on bank 1 and fixed the issue which i am about to order on rockauto.

can someone please clear this up before i order the sensor of which is left or right??
so i need bank 1 sensor is this correct??
bank 1 = passenger side (left)
bank 2 = drivers side (right)
