2005 G35 Coupe 6MT with 112k miles on the original motor and transmission. Only major work done is I was tired of squeaky suspension parts so i replaced the entire thing. These cars last as long as you'll take care of them. Don't cheap out on fixing it and it won't cheap out on you. With proper maintenance you can easily reach 200k with nothing too major going wrong.

2005 G35 coupe, 6 speed manual. It has 94K on it with original Rev-Up engine and transmission. My most major repair was the clutch I had a local shop install it cost me $1400 due to the clutch I purchased (Z1 street performance with a lightweight flywheel). I would say most common from my limited experience is the oil consumption of the Rev-Up engine. Overall very minor repairs needed even for a 12 year old car.

Transmission: 5AT
Current miles on vehicle:165000
Miles on original engine:158000 on Original, Replacement engine had ~100,000 when I fitted it
Miles on original transmission:165000
Major repair and dollar amount: Used Engine $750
Most common mechanical problem with your specific vehicle:
Window Motors fail - Motor dies or the plastic gear breaks (Nissan probably just took generic window motors from their other models and over stressed them with the large coupe glass. Do the Sedans suffer as much from window motor failures?
Brake pad deposits on the discs. I know it's avoidable but it seems the discs of the G35 suffer much more/easily.
Power seats - this may be faulty switches which is more on the electric side than mechanical

You do have to think reasonably hard to come up with a list of faults/failures.
Most of the other stuff are normal wear and tear.
Cosmetic problems you could consider the soft paint and the ease of yellowing on the headlights.

Most common mechanical problem with your specific vehicle: Drivers side power window failed once (I was able to repair mine myself without spending a dime on it by disassembling, cleaning it, lubing, and reassembling), slight tear\wear in drivers side leather seat outside lower corner. My OEM Bose 6-Disc in dash CD player sound cuts out on the left side when playing disks only.... happens to pretty much all G's. I'm not going to fix the radio because nobody uses CDs anymore so I could care less. The reflective plastic divider between my highbeam and lowbeam in my headlights also has an S-shaped crack in it which also happens to most non-projector G35 headlights.

Aside from upgrades or maintenance and wear items like belts, tires, oil changes, gear oil changes, and windshield wipers, this is what I've had to spend money on:
-Replaced the gas door release mechanism because the rubber boot was torn ($12)
-I need to replace one of my interior dome lights because it is currently burned out. I will probably upgrade all my interior lights to LED when I get around to it.

I could go to town with this, lol.

Year: 2006
Transmission: 6MT
Current miles on vehicle: 228,000
Miles on original engine: 228,000
Miles on original transmission: 228,000
Major repair and dollar amount: Original clutch started slipping around 220,000 miles, cost about $600 to replace. Complete suspension overhaul around 200k miles, about $800 worth of parts.
Most common mechanical problem with your specific vehicle: Currently burning oil, didn't really start burning until sometime after 160-180k miles, I thought I had dodged a bullet. Had to replace all wheel bearings, but that's a wear item anyway. Passenger seat recline switch went bad, replaced with a used item since Infiniti would only sell the entire seat bottom assembly for the low low price of $3,000 O_o Really most aggravating common problem is rear tire wear. Only get a bit over a year on summer tires, and two years out of all-season tires. To be fair, I put about 22-24k miles per year on my car. So 48k miles out of rear tires isn't too bad, but could be better. This is with rear camber arms.

For the window motors you replaced you mentioned updated motors in 2008? Were they replaced with ones from a 2008 G or did Infiniti do a redesign so they are more reliable? Both my driver and passenger window motors are out on my 2003 G35 coupe and I'm contemplating OEM or aftermarket. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated
