Performance or Looks

Hey all, i'm in bit of a pinch here. I Have around $500 maybe $600 to spend and was thinking if I should go with the Art pipes or get a new head-unit for my car. I'm leaning more towards the art pipes since i've recently gotten some exhaust work done and listen to that more often. On the other hand, I DO love to listen to music and have friends who want to play theirs as well but can't cuz y'know-- G35 and all.

What do y'all think I should get? I'd be happy with either one.

I think that's a question only you can answer but I can tell you $500-600 won't get you a decent headunit, new faceplate/climate controls and supporting installation accessories and that's just for parts. Read through this thread, https://g35driver.com/forums/audio-v...urce-list.html to see what all getting into a new radio entails.

I've already called up Crutchfield and had them recommend me a radio along with the necessary accessories for steering-wheel controls etc. I know the head-unit is going to cost around $340 since i'm going with the JDM style one. As far as installation, I could probably manage to do it myself and if all else fails, I have a few audio junky friends that could help out.

Here's the reciever: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_113DDX...tp=20217&avf=Y

I'd say go ART Pipes and for music you can install a $50-$150 adapter into your stock headunit. Best of both worlds, you just won't have a fancy screen.

A dirt cheap and super easy alternative is to buy a $15-25 Wireless FM Transmitter which lets you play your music through empty stations on the radio (if I understand this correctly ) But your music quality may suffer, especially with radio interference.

Yea, I have that transmitter and it's garbage lol. I only use it on rare occasions where I want to REALLY listen to a song or for a friend.
So, you think getting the pipes will suit me better? If so, do you know if it would go well with a muffler delete?

ART pipes are a good idea, however with the factory exhaust you'll create so much rasp you'll grow to hate it! Want to do something nice for your G? Spend those $$ on maintenance, she'll last longer!

I love the sound of my muffler delete and just want it to be louder but not straight pipe loud. To me, it sounds like it's a deep rumble but if the arts will make it a but "raspier" that's fine for me. I heard it also eliminates some of the drone so that's a plus in my book.
As far as maintenance, everything is perfectly fine and I get checks every 3000 miles so that's not a problem.

What year? If you have a cassette player, just get a 3.5mm aux cassette tape. Sound quality is great
