How universal are aftermarket parts?

I know most, if not all, aftermarket retailers tell you online "designed for a ___ to ___ g35", but sometimes the part I'm looking for is only "designed for ___ to ___ g35", and my 06 g35 isn't in that year selection. Will it still possibly fit? Does it sorta just depend sometimes? Like truly how universal can some items be? For example I swapped my stock headlights with someone who had aftermarkets designed for a 03 coupe, yet he had a 07, and they still fit and look great on my 06. Post a link if there is a thread already discussing this, I just couldn't find one, and was curious. Thanks!!

All body parts for all years of the coupe are directly compatible except for the spashguards from 06/7 sport models.; this obviously includes aftermarket parts.

All suspension parts are compatible for all coupe years.

Most interior parts from 03/4 will NOT fit 05/6/7 except for basic stuff like seats and steering wheel.

The engine and ecu differ slightly over the whole production depending on which model you have and is always worth researching before you try to replace any major parts.

And if you have questions about a specific item just ask here and you will probably have an answer with a couple days.

My bad didn't know that asking questions and trying to find new information from those who could help didn't qualify under my "responsibility to learn" more about my car lol

Sometimes you will get a "colorful variety of answers" to questions asked, for the most part the answers are helpful though.

well I prefer to work smarter not harder, probably a concept you've never understood, so if there are nice enough people on here to help me out by giving me a generalized idea of the parts instead of searching through thread after thread about each individual part then that is greatly appreciated. oh and look there are some nice people above unlike your sorry *** who has apparently been on here since 2009 just trying to ruin people's day by commenting unnecessary & stupid ****!

In life as in business I was always taught the three P's...proper planning pays which will also enhance performance!
