opinions needed on painting stock wheels

i like the stock wheels a lot, but i want to be somewhat unique. i would like some volk wheels...but i cant see dishing out $3000 for them. i remember seeing one of the members painting their stock wheels all black...which is an option i would look into. but i did the worst photoshop job ever and painted the stock spokes black, but left the outer rim and the rest of the wheel the graphite color. what do you guys think? and if anyone has any knowledge about paint shops and such, how much do you think this would cost to do?

ya copbait has the 'black chrome' look, except i think its better than black chrome b/c w/ the aftermarket 'black chrome' they look almost identical to chrome whereas copbaits actually look like BLACK (space) CHROME.

Interested to about painting wheels too

Although I don't want to paint my stock wheels, I would like to know if I can paint my ASA JH3s which I'm currently using as my winter set. They are currently stock silver painted.

If I could paint them OEM ivory pearl to match my coupe, it would be original and I think the white wheels matching the body color would look pretty sweet.

Does anyone know if you take them to a wheel refinisher or to a body shop?

Thanks for any info.

any good body shop can paint rims, but a lot of them won't....probably looking at $100-200 per wheel for a good job....there are also companies that specialize in reconditioning alloys (i.e. WheelsAmerica, SpecWheels) and they can refinish wheels pretty much any color....good luck..

they sometimes won't because it can slow up production...which would you (if you owned a shop) rather have in the booth, a $400 wheel job, or a $4000 collision repair? yup, money is money...

You can have them powdercoated. THere was a guy on Acura-cl.com that was doing it for all of us about a year ago for a good deal.
